About Lea Holland

Lea Holland

Lea Holland writes emotionally layered fiction about women at pivotal moments—when the lives they’ve carefully constructed begin asking different questions.

Before turning to fiction, she spent more than twenty-five years helping some of the world’s best-known brands tell their stories. Now she’s exploring the stories we tell ourselves—and what happens when life asks us to reconsider them.

Raised by an English-teacher mother who encouraged her to read far beyond her age (but expected a vocabulary list of unfamiliar words), Lea developed an early appreciation for complicated characters, expansive stories, and proper punctuation. She will still go to war for the Oxford comma and the em dash.

An Arizona native, Lea lives in Chandler with her husband and their cat, Charlie. When she’s not writing, she’s likely exploring wine country, collecting ideas for her next novel, or building elaborate plans on paper calendars that remain cheerfully resistant to digital extinction.
